Kerry Dixon-Fox, project manager for Iowa State University facilities planning and management, discusses the Iowa State Memorial Union green roof project. The green roof is on the north side of the building on the second floor. The plantings are adjacent to several large windows along a heavily traveled corridor. The roof design was created by senior horticulture student Miles Thompson, who happens to work in the Memorial Union and thought the roof would be a great location for a green roof. The Memorial Union green roof is one of five on campus that includes the King Pavilion, Horticulture Hall, a Bissell Road bus stop and the Biorenewables Research Laboratory.
Fernando Urdaneta, student intern for the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences Communications Service, produced this video.
