The following are the standing committees for the ISU Ag & Life Sciences Council. A short description of each committee is provided.
ADVISOR SELECTION:
The members of the advisor committee gather suggestions for possible candidates, interview the candidates, and select a new faculty advisor and industry advisor.
AG WEEK:
This committee plans and coordinates all activities for the October promotional week that highlights the College of Agriculture & Life Sciences.
AWARDS:
This committee selects and presents awards given by the Ag & Life Sciences Council. Awards are given for "Outstanding Senior," "Academic Achievement," "Outstanding Leadership" and "Outstanding Service." These awards are presented to graduating seniors. Outstanding Advisor as well as Most Innovative Idea, given to a club for its originality in promoting agriculture, are other awards given by Ag & Life Sciences Council. FRESHMAN/TRANSFER BBQ:
This event takes place at the beginning of the fall semester. Its purpose is to welcome incoming freshman and transfer students and to acquaint them with other students in the College of Ag & Life Sciences. Organizational work is done in the spring and committee members must be present for the event which is held the day before classes resume in the fall.
NATIONAL AG DAY:
This committee plans and coordinates all-College of Agriculture & Life Sciences special events celebrating National Ag Day as well as coordinating and publicizing off-campus events being held in conjunction with campus events. Click Here for Ag Man and Ag Woman of the year applications.
PUBLICITY:
The purpose of the Publicity Committee is to help promote Ag & Life Sciences Council Events and the various clubs in the College of Ag & Life Sciences to students at ISU.
SALES:
Promoting sales of Ag Council sponsored items such as, folders, shirts and hats are the primary objectives of this committee. Click Here for more details about sales items.
SOCIAL and LEADERSHIP:
This committee is in charge of planning and organizing social activities and leadership development for the Ag & Life Sciences Council as well as for the College of Agriculture & Life Sciences.
VEISHEA
The committee coordinates the effort to plan, create, and prepare for the Ag & Life Sciences Council display, float, and Ag Olympics.
