Sequencing the Maize Genome

Iowa State researcher Patrick Schnable, Baker Professor of agronomy, and his team helped sequence the maize genome, announced in the Nov. 20 of Science magazine. His team developed methods for the assembly of maize genome sequence data and conducted much of the ongoing functional analysis work.
