Evacuate the area. Contact the law enforcement authorities for your area (campus area--Department of Public Safety at 294-4428, off-campus--local police or sheriff). Contact emergency medical personnel in the event of any possible human health risks. Contact your ISU supervisor and your unit administrator as soon as possible. If animals are involved, contact the attending veterinarian. Communicate the results of the veterinarian's visit to ISU Lab Animal Resources. Keep notes of the occurrence. Reminder: Although ISU facilities are public, as the supervisor of an ISU facility, you have the responsibility to inquire about the background and intent of any visitor.
