Iowa State's Farm Operations Club Garners National HonorsMarch 31st, 2010
AMES, Iowa – Members of the Iowa State University Farm Operations Club earned several top honors at the National Postsecondary Agriculture Students Organization convention.
During the convention, Iowa State student Danielle Hamilton, a sophomore in agriculture and life sciences education from Waverly, was named national president elect. She also placed first in the agriculture education specialist competition. The undergraduate team placed high in several competitions testing agricultural production and management knowledge at the organization’s annual meeting March 17-20 in St. Louis, Mo. Other top finishes include Samantha Holland, sophomore in agriculture and life sciences education from Alleman, who placed second in career progress agriculture education. The livestock team of Ashley Loes, a junior in agricultural studies from Bernard; Sarah Pakala, a junior in agricultural studies from Dike and Dave Burmeister, a junior in agricultural studies from Logan which placed second overall. Burmeister placed second individually.
