ISU Agronomy Graduate Student Elected President of National Ag Minority Association

April 7th, 2004

Aaron Jeffries, an Iowa State University agronomy student, was elected president of the national graduate student chapter of Minorities in Agriculture, Natural Resources and Related Sciences (MANRRS) at the association's annual conference last month in Des Moines.

Jeffries is from St. Louis and the son of Harold and Sylvia Jeffries. He is pursing a doctorate in crop production and physiology. He also is involved in Kappa Alpha Psi fraternity. Jeffries will serve a one-year term beginning in May.

"In addition to serving and representing more than 1,000 MANRRS members, as president I will represent the image and direction of the national MANRRS organization," Jeffries said.

MANRRS is a national society that welcomes membership of all racial and ethnic groups participating in agricultural and related sciences. MANRRS has 54 chapters at several colleges and universities throughout the United States.
