Locating Funding for Sponsored Projects

Iowa State University faculty are encouraged to seek support for research, teaching, and extension projects in the form of gifts, grants, and contracts from sponsors external to the University. State and Federal government agencies, industries, and foundations and other non-profit organizations are all potential sources of research support. On the Iowa State University campus, sponsored program funding is the focus of the Office of Sponsored Programs. The information provided there will guide researchers in identifying and disseminating external funding opportunities for creative and scholarly research and educational development to the Iowa State University community.

College of Agriculture and the Iowa Agriculture and Home Economics Experiment Station also supports faculty through the efforts of Elena Polouchkina. Her responsibilities include the following: coordinating grant writers workshops, identifying and maintaining databases on potential grant funding opportunities, networking with funding agencies, and as time permits supporting College of Agriculture faculty preparing proposals for external grants and coordinating proposal writing activities between research team members.
