Faculty in the Iowa Agriculture and Home Economics Experiment Station are encouraged to seek external funding for the conduct of research projects. The ability to obtain external research support is crucial to a faculty member's professional development. In addition to external sources, there are several internal sources of support that can be used to supplement external funding in certain circumstances. Internal funding should generally be viewed as seed money.
