Mickey Leland International Hunger Fellows Program
The Congressional Hunger Center seeks applicants for the Mickey Leland International Hunger Fellows Program. This 2-year service-learning initiative begins with a 1-year field placement in countries throughout Asia, Africa, and Latin America. The second year of the program places fellows in a policy setting (often in the field organization’s headquarters) to focus on public policy and its effects on hunger, food security and poverty. Applicants should have a Graduate degree (or equivalent experience) appropriate to the relevant fellowship placement, at least 3 months continuous work or volunteer experience in a developing country, demonstrated leadership qualities and abilities, flexibility and personal maturity and a strong commitment to alleviating hunger and poverty. Other skills and knowledge as specified in the fellowship placement may also be required. Applicants must be US citizens or permanent residents. Application Deadline:
January 15, 2005
