ISU Faculty/Staff Travel to Italy

Eleven ISU faculty/staff took part in a professional development trip to Italy May 16-25, 2004. The trip was led by Shelley Taylor and sponsored by the College of Agriculture. The objectives of the visit were to 1) provide an international experience to faculty and staff of the College of Agriculture; 2) provide a model for a program with a travel focus to encourage faculty and staff to lead their own faculty or student trips in the future; 3) introduce ISU faculty and staff to the interests and resources available through the Cassamarca Foundation at Tenuta Ca’Tron in Roncade, Italy and 4) introduce ISU faculty and staff to the University of Padova agricultural campus “Agripolis” and Italian administration and faculty interested in collaborative activities. Funding Opportunity
The Office for Central Europe and Russia of the National Research Council (NRC), operating arm of the National Academies, is accepting proposals for 2-year collaborative research projects that link individual U.S. scientists with their counterparts in Bulgaria, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, or Slovakia. All proposals must include at least one U.S. researcher who has received the Ph.D. after October 18, 1994, either as the principal investigator or as co-investigator with another more senior U.S. scientist.
