Seminar
Dr. Billye Foster, Department of Agricultural Education,
University of Arizona, will give a seminar entitled, "Women in
Agriculture: Do We Really Want Them There?" from 8-9 p.m. on
Wednesday, November 29, 2000, in the Gallery of the Memorial
Union. The seminar is open to the public and is being sponsored by
the College of Agriculture, International Agriculture Programs,
Department of Agricultural Education & Studies, Department of
Curriculum & Instruction, Department of Sociology, ISU
Committee on Lectures, Margaret Sloss Women's Center, Women's
Studies, the Carrie Chapman Catt Center, North-Central Regional
Center for Rural Development, the University Committee on Women,
and the Women, Food and Agriculture Network.

The Ag Study Abroad Office is currently recruiting students
for study abroad programs in the following countries:
Argentina, China, Costa Rica, France, Germany, Greece, Honduras,

The Ag Study Abroad Office is looking for a 5-month internship for a student from Nicaragua starting in January, 2001. The student is a senior in the crop production program at Zamorano in Honduras. He has experience with agrochemical use and management, basic grain processing, livestock production, and dairy products processing. The Ag Study Abroad Office is looking for families interested in hosting an international intern from Thailand (and possibly other countries). Families would welcome the students into their homes for up to two months during the summer. Students will be interested in gaining hands-on experience in midwest culture and agriculture by living with a family and helping on the family farm.
