ISU Research and Demonstration Farms

Summer Vegetable/Fruit Field Day – Monday, June 30 at 9:30 a.m.

Cost: $20.00/person, includes lunch
Where: Dick Martin farm, 225 South Ringgold St., Boone, IA. From Highway 30 west of Boone,
turn north on Montana Rd. for 1.4 miles (Montana Rd. is the first cross street west of the
main stop light intersection on Hwy 30). Then east on W. Mamie Eisenhower, south on S.
Ringgold 0.3 miles to Martin farm.

Scott and Julie Wilber farm, 2407 Marshall St., Boone, IA. From Martin farm, go north
on S. Ringgold to W. Mamie Eisenhower, turn east to Story St. Turn north on Story St. to
24th St. (last 2 blocks will be gravel). Turn east, 2 blocks to Wilber farm.

ISU Horticulture Station, Ames, IA. From Wilber farm, go south on Marshall St. to 22nd
St., which is also 190th St. Turn east and continue across Hwy 17 to 500th St. in Story
County. Turn north on 500th and go to 170th St. Turn east on 170th St. and continue
through Gilbert to Hwy 69. Cross Hwy 69 and travel east on gravel road 1.5 miles.
Station is on the north side.



Pre-registration required by June 27. Lunch will be served at the Horticulture Station.

10:45 a.m. Travel to Scott and Julie Wilber farm
Variety of vegetable and melon crops
First year as fulltime on-the-farm grower
First year CSA business
12:15 p.m. Travel to Horticulture Station for lunch
