COLLEGE OF AGRICULTURE AND LIFE SCIENCESThe George Washington Carver (GWC) Internship Program is conducted by the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences (CALS) and consists of programs funded through different sources and tied to several colleges at Iowa State University (ISU). HIGH SCHOOL PROGRAMFrom June 20 to August 1 is the six-week high school program for 2009. Mentors (or their departments) are expected to match half the high school stipends, $750, with the College. High School interns live and have meals at the residence hall. They are expected to attend weekly seminars, complete a research project, prepare an abstract and written report, and present their work at the Research Symposium at the end of the program. GWC Internship Program coordinators stay in touch wih interns throughout the six weeks and residence advisors are on hand to assist with planed activities and be supportive to interns.
