CALS and the Experiment Station also supports diversity students through our research oriented centers and encouragement of individual faculty members to recruit at multicultural serving institutions. The Center for Integrated Animal Genomics (CIAG), lead by Distinguished Professor, Dr. Max Rothschild, is supported by CALS as special research initiative. CIAG provides partial financial support for faculty who agree to take on a multicultural intern through the CALS diversity program for summer interns. Also, Dr. Rothschild and a few other CALS faculty send graduate school program information to all 1890 and 1994 schools to recruit African American and Native American students to our life sciences oriented graduate programs.
