Agricultural Education, B.S., 1954
One memorable class experience I had at ISC in 1951 as a sophomore in agricultural education was in an agronomy class taught by Louis Thompson. I had a job at the Seed Lab in the old Botany Hall that I worked at early in the morning before classes. By the time I got to my agronomy class I began to feel tired. I had dozed off in a couple of class sessions and as I left class after the second time I was interrupted by Professor Thompson who asked, "Is my class boring?" I responded "No, Why?" His comment was, "You stay awake in my class or drop it!" Since I needed the credit I purchased caffeine pills and enlisted the help of my classmates to keep me awake. I succeeded in staying awake and even received an "A" in the class. I wonder if the teachers today are as interested in their students.
