This module is designed for students to learn the key components of sustainable horticulture. The module can be completed in two hours of class time.

 

After completion of this module, the student will be able to :

1. Define the concept of sustainable horticulture,

2. List key components of a sustainable horticultural production and management system,

3. Distinguish among common terms that may be part of a sustainable system (such as "IPM"),

4. Determine horticultural practices that are not considered to be sustainable and may be challenges for horticulturists in the future,

5. Describe the benefits of using sustainable practices in horticultural production and management.

 

1. Copy sufficient hand-outs or prepare overheads or powerpoint slides for students to use during in-class work.
