The 2nd Annual Rural Community College Alliance Conference, held October 6-8, 2003, in San Antonio, Texas, is a national learning event for rural community colleges and their community partners. This conference provided an opportunity for participants to:

  • Learn from the experience of The Ford Foundation’s Rural Community College Initiative (RCCI)—what works and what doesn’t.
  • Interact with peers and national experts on challenges facing rural colleges and communities.
  • Learn about effective rural strategies to increase educational access, expand college capacity and build the economy.
  • Hear from resource people about funding opportunities.

RCCA 2003 included three general sessions featuring Juan Sepulveda, The Common Enterprise; Clinton Bristow, Jr., Alcorn State University; Charles Lee, Mississippi State University; Carlyle Ramsey, Danville Community College; Steve Katsinas, University of North Texas; and Joe Sertich, RCCA Policy and Advocacy Committee. There was also a President's Breakfast and several concurrent sessions.
