B.S. Biology Iowa State University
After graduating from high school in Puerto Rico, I applied to several colleges. I was accepted into the summer program, Academic Program for Excellence (APEX) at Iowa State University. I really loved the program and my experience here in Iowa, so I decided to stay for my undergraduate studies and then on to graduate school.
I am currently working on my Master's degree in Animal Ecology under the direction of Rolf Koford. My research is focused on birds. In my project I am doing an inventory of the birds found in state preserves with a specific focus on area sensitive species. The goal is to relate prairie size to abundance of area sensitive species and be able to point out landscapes that could be beneficial or detrimental to bird populations.
In the future I plan to continue working in areas related with wildlife and
conservation.
