IA4001 Small Seeded Specialty Soybean Variety

Flower Pod Pubescence Hilum Coat Royalty per bu Royalty per 50 lb unit
Purple Brown Gray Yellow Intermediate $8.50 $7.00

Iowa State University has developed a small seeded specialty variety for use in various food products. IA4001 has purple flowers, gray pubescence, brown pods at maturity and yellow hila. IA4001 is intermediate for seed coat luster.

IA4001 is an F3 plant selections from the cross (S23-03 x A87-102105) x A87-102102. S23-03 is a cultivar developed by Northrup King Company. A87-102105 and A87-102102 are small-seeded cultivars developed by Iowa State University.

IA4001 was evaluated for agronomic performance and seed from 1991 to 1995. IA4001 matures about 8 days later than IA2005 and has superior yi

eld and smaller seed size. Royalty - $8.50 per 60 lb unit planted or $7.00 per 50 lb unit.

IA4002 (A97-975043) Small Seeded Specialty Soybean Variety

Flower Pod Pubescence Hilum Coat Royalty per bu Royalty per 50 lb unit
Purple Brown Gray Yellow Intermediate $8.50 $7.00

Iowa State University has developed a specialty variety for use in various food products.  IA4002 was tested under the experimental number A97-975043.  IA4002 is a F 3 plant selection from the cross IA2023 X (A92-632035 X IA2024).  IA2023 and IA2024 are small-seeded varieties developed by Iowa State University.  A92-632035 is a general-use experimental line developed by Iowa State University.

IA4002 was tested in Iowa from 1996 to 2000.  It was compared with IA2023, IA2035, IA3007, IA3008, and IA4001, which are five small-seeded varieties released by Iowa State University.  IA4002 matures 7 days later than IA3008, the 2 days later than IA3007, and the same day as IA4001.  Averaged across the years of testing, it has higher yield than IA3007 and IA4001 and comparable seed size.

IA4003 (A01-608035) Large Seeded, High Protein

Flower Pod Pubescence Hilum Coat Royalty per bu Royalty per 50 lb unit
Purple Brown Gray Yellow Intermediate $3.00 $2.50

A01-608035 - large seeded, high-protein

A01-608035 is a F4 plant selection from the cross IA2048 x A97-874062.  IA2048 is a large-seeded, high protein variety developed by Iowa State University.  A97-874062 is a large-seeded, high-protein experimental line developed by Iowa State University.  A01-608035 has purple flowers, gray pubescence, brown pods, and seeds with yellow hila and intermediate seed coat luster.  It was tested in Iowa from 2000 to 2004 and was compared to IA3016 an dIA3022, which are large-seeded, high-protein varieties developed by Iowa State University.  A01-608038 matures three days later than IA3016 and IA3022.  Averaged across the years of testing, it has a higher yield and comparable seed size and protein content to that of IA3016 and IA3022.

Royalty is $3.00 per bu or $2.50 per 50 lb unit planted.
