IA1008LF -Lipoxygenase Free
| Flower | Pod | Pubescence | Hilum | Coat | Royalty per bu | Royalty per 50 lb unit |
| Purple | Tan | Gray | Yellow | Dull | $2.70 | $2.25 |
IA1008LF is made up of 51 BC3F2-derived lines with uniform agronomic and seed characteristics obtained by backcrossing into IA1008 the lx1, lx2, and lx3 alleles that control the absence of three lipoxygenase isozymes. Absence of the three isozymes results in a soybean seed that lacks the typical beany or grassy flavor of conventional seed. The source of the lx1, lx2, and lx3 alleles was IA2025. IA2025 is a lipoxygenase-free variety developed by Iowa State University. IA1008 is a general- use variety with resistance to the soybean cyst nematode and a yellow hila.
IA1008LF has purple flowers, gray pubescence, tan pods, and seeds with yellow hila and dull seed coat luster. IA1008LF is being evaluated in 2004 and is expected to perform the same as IA1008. The variety will not be released if its performance in 2004 tests is not acceptable.
Royalty $2.70 per bu or $2.25 per 50 lb unit planted.
