Mikesch Muecke

Summary

Professor Muecke and his students in the College of Design use cutting-edge visualization and manufacturing techniques to develop three-dimensional designs through a variety of tools and techniques, such as laser cutters, a 3D printer, a vacuum former, and a CNC router. Current research includes the design of chairs for a competition, the integration of Rhino 3D software with manufacturing, a File-to-Fabrication course, and the upcoming design of components for ISU’s bid toward the 2009 Department-of-Energy-sponsored Solar Decathlon. Students utilize state-of-the-art software in both labs and standalone machines, and continue to provide advanced design services to the academy and the industry.
