We invite you to examine the Learner Outcomes Assessment Program for the College of Agriculture and the Assessment Portfolios of each of our departments! The pages of this web site showcase the ongoing, dynamic work of each department in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences at Iowa State University to assess the learning success of each undergraduate curriculum of each department. The Purpose of the Learner-Outcomes Assessment Program of each department is to improve student learning by setting learner outcome goals, gathering data to assess degree program progress toward those goals, and finally to share the ongoing efforts and progress being made toward achieving those goals. Each departmental site follows an outline of goals that are consistent with maturing stages of continuous improvement as described by the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association (HLC-NCA) in its 2002 addendum to the Handbook of Accreditation. However, each department is free to assess and document progress and achievement of each goal in a manner that is most effective for that department.
