ISU AG CAREER DAY TO FEATURE 145 AGRICULTURE EMPLOYERS
AMES -- Every aspect of the agriculture industry is expected to be represented at Iowa State University's Agriculture Career Day.
The annual career fair will be held Tuesday, Nov. 9, 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., at ISU's Memorial Union. Representatives from 145 employers are expected to participate, including 25 first year participants.
"This year there's more competition for fewer jobs in some areas, like the ag chemical industry," said Mike Gaul, director of ag career services. "It will be more challenging for job-seekers in certain areas, but overall the job market looks very good for entry-level positions."
The job fair also serves as "opening day" for on-campus interviews for internships and full-time positions with many of the participating companies. Gaul said after last year's event there were more than 800 interviews before the semester's end and a similar number is expected this year.
The job fair is open to ISU students, alumni and the public. For more information, call (515) 294-4725.
