JON TOLLEFSON NAMED ENTOMOLOGY DEPARTMENT CHAIR
AMES, Iowa -- Jon Tollefson, a professor in the Department of Entomology at Iowa State University became chair of the department on July 1.
Tollefson's appointment will be for five years. He has been at Iowa State since 1975, the same year he earned a doctorate in entomology from Iowa State. Tollefson has specialized in research on the management of the corn rootworm in addition to his teaching duties.
He takes over for Joel Coats, who completed a five-year appointment as chair on June 30. Coats returns to the faculty.
