Learn how Iowa communities are taking charge of their future at the Rural Summit, Aug. 27-28, in the Scheman Building, Iowa State University.
Monday, Aug. 27: What to expect
A 1 p.m. session with the Iowa Rural Development Council will include a discussion with community leaders on what it takes to be competitive places to work and live. A 5 p.m. reception will feature ISU President Gregory Geoffroy and an exhibition on innovative community programs.
Tuesday, Aug. 28: What to expect
The program begins at 8 a.m. Keynote speaker is Karl Stauber, president of the Northwest Area Foundation. Panel discussions will feature state leaders addressing population diversity, telecommunications, biotechnology, culture and tourism, wages, education, protection of natural resources, and other topics.
