KLONGLAN RETIREMENT RECEPTION TO BE HELD MAY 3
AMES, Iowa -- A retirement reception honoring Gerald Klonglan will be held from 3 to 5 p.m. on May 3 in the Campanile Room, Memorial Union, on the Iowa State University campus.
Klonglan, associate dean for national programs and research in the College of Agriculture, has had a 39-year career at ISU. He also is an assistant director of the Iowa Agriculture and Home Economics Experiment Station. He formerly was chair of the sociology and anthropology department.
Klonglan has provided leadership in national research activities with Congress and federal agencies, College of Agriculture diversity programs, Iowa Vision 2020 and numerous other projects.
Klonglan grew up on a farm in Story County and graduated from Fernald High School. He received his undergraduate degree at Iowa State in rural sociology in 1958. He returned to ISU to complete his master's and doctorate in rural sociology and joined the faculty in 1963.
