“The Iowa Farm Science Stops the Presses”
The last issue of the Iowa Farm Science was distributed in 1971. This issue included an outlook on the future of farming in the state of Iowa. This issue brought to an end a history that began in the 1930’ s with its forerunners The Iowa Farm Economist and The Iowa Farm Science Reporter. The discontinuation of this publication was strictly financial.Although Iowa State University is still publishing research results to this day, January 1971 marked an end to a publication that played a significant role in the greatest leap in agricultural productivity ever recorded in the history of man.
